Duffey Petrosky Appoints New Chief Creative Officer Jimmy Kollin
Experienced Creative Executive Joins Ad Agency’s Growing Roster
Detroit, MI – October 27, 2015 – Duffey Petrosky Chief Executive Officer Mark Petrosky announced the appointment of Jimmy Kollin as Chief Creative Officer of the Farmington Hills-based advertising and marketing agency.
Kollin joins Duffey Petrosky after a 17-year tenure at Doner, where he most recently served as SVP, Creative Director. While there, Kollin worked on virtually every category of advertising, including retail, specialty retail, sports marketing, automotive, CPG, content brands, subscription-based services, hospitality, travel, education and business-to-business accounts.
“Jimmy is a high-energy, extremely motivated and talented individual who brings passion and business acumen to his work,” said Petrosky. “We are truly excited about his coming contributions to Duffey Petrosky as we enter a new phase in our shared history.”
Kollin launched and led creative for AutoTrader and The UPS Stores, helping both brands achieve leadership positions in their category. He also created multi-platform integrated campaigns for brands like Golfsmith, The Coleman Company, The International Tennis Hall of Fame, Choice Hotels and many others. His “Vitamin Z, Part of Complete Childhood” campaign for The Detroit Zoo proved transformational, and won the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attraction’s Brass Ring, beating brands like Disney and Universal Studios.
Prior to Doner, Kollin spent five years at McCann Erickson, working on GMC as an Associate Creative Director. He also worked at the McCann offices in Mexico City on General Motors of South and Central America. Kollin also worked as a copywriter at J. Walter Thompson in Detroit on accounts like Delta Dental, Speedy Muffler and Key Bank. Before that, Jimmy worked at Group 243 in Ann Arbor on the Domino’s Pizza business.
Jimmy’s work has been recognized by The One Show, Clio Awards, Effie Awards and locally at The D Show.
Kollin holds a B.A. in creative writing and literature from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and resides in Farmington Hills with his wife, son and daughter—both of whom are NCAA student athletes.
